Seesaw General information
At Highgate School our Years Reception to Year 3 use Seesaw to share in class and at home learning. Seesaw gives your child creative tools to capture and reflect on their learning – in real time. Seesaw can also be used to communicate between families and the class teacher.
Students add posts to their journals. Student posts showcase the creative projects they’ve been working on in the classroom. This could include photos, artwork, videos, activities, notes, projects they’ve created in other apps, and more.
Families get notified when there are new posts in their student’s journal. They can view posts and add likes and comments.
Seesaw requires an invite from your child’s teacher in order to sign up. If you do not have an invite QR code or link, contact your child’s teacher.
The Family App gives parents a view of what their child is working on in the classroom. Parents can comment on student work, view announcements, and message their child’s teacher. Family accounts cannot respond to Activities or post directly to a student journal.
In order to complete Activities and post student work at home, students need to log in to the Class App. Students can also login at app.seesaw.me by selecting ‘I’m a Student’. Students can only complete assignments and post work from the Class App.

Highgate Guidelines for parents when posting on Seesaw
- Be constructive! Learning a new skill is hard and we need your help.
- Specific comments are best. Think about how you can add to the learning conversation.
- In a group or ‘everyone’ post, please remember your comment is shared with everyone tagged – students and their parents. This is a great opportunity to lift up the whole class!
- If you want to contact your child’s teacher privately use the inbox feature where messages will directly stay between the two of you in your own forum.
