Term 2 Learning at home and school

Term 2 Learning Update 1-5-2020

Following the announcements in recent weeks, we have had just over 80% of our students at school this week and expecting more from Monday.
This has of course resulted in some changes to the plans that we made at the end of Term 1.
We continue to engage with our home learners through Seesaw (R-3) and Google Classroom/OneNote (4-7). Home learning programs will continue to be delivered as required during this transition period.
Home learning timetables will run from 8:50-3:15pm and include literacy, numeracy, physical activity, breaks and a specialist lesson in accordance with departmental guidelines. Literacy and numeracy may be embedded in other subject areas depending on the age of your child.
For those families using this option, it is important to know that we do not expect you to be engaged with the online learning program from 8:50am-3:15pm. Timetables are provided as a guide and we expect families to use their own judgement about how this will work best for their children.
Finally, if your child is attending school then they are NOT expected to also complete the home learning. The programs are the same regardless of whether your child is at home or school and do not need to be repeated.

As more children are now attending school, our teachers are finding creative ways to connect with those at home and this may look different in each class.
We are very aware that we have changed the times for WEBEX already this week and that you must be finding it hard to keep up. We apologise for this and continue to do our best to make this work.
As more children return, we moving to a mixed model of home support. If for example, there are only 2 children in a class who are learning from home, then it is more efficient for teachers to contact them by email/Seesaw/Google classroom.
We have also made the decision that our specialist teachers will not offer WEBEX catch-ups. They are moving from class to class in their roles and continuing WEBEX is unsustainable. They will however respond to questions regarding their programs that arise and email addresses are provided below for your information;

Please remember that our website has a wide range of supplementary resources to support additional learning as required.
